I'm Al Peterson. I hope this website is an encouragement to you.
We exist to share the love of Christ with people in our community and the communities around us and to extend the message of Christ around the world. We do this through giving God the praise, spiritual growth, sharing Christ's love with people who do not know him and sharing Christ's love with one another.
My calling is to help you grow in understanding what God is saying to you in the Bible and to help you act on it. The Bible explains that a right relationship with God is the key that unlocks the process of growth in your life.
We want to be of help to you regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey. If you don't know Christ personally, we would love to introduce you. If know Jesus and you want to grow, we want to be in touch with you. The best way to learn more about us is to visit one of our activities in person, to get to know us. If you are seeking God, if you have a question we can help you with or if you simply want information, please get in touch with us. We all need encouragement and challenge from other Christians. Whatever your choice is, I pray God will bless you as you grow closer to the Lord Jesus.
When our family of four came to Lyons from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School 20 years ago, we could not have imagined the kid of people we would be today. Now we are thirteen, including a son-in-law and three grandkids. We've grown in numbers, in understanding and maturity as God has blessed us. The Lyons Evangelical Free Church has been a large part of God's work in our lives.
